My current art...

During this peace time, i have been very busy composing some art from the gift i received from a dear friend. 

She has been my rock and guide with word of encouragement and gifts of love to help me begin and release my inner passion using art as my expression.
Im grateful too, for my step-mother Winnie, she bought me some oils also to help me start my journey into my greatest soul desire.. ART.

  With the help of these two vital people, i have been feeling so deep and have been able to express my inner destiny to portray myself in my art.

  It is a place i go when all my service of the day has been done. 

My jobs completed, my children fed, educated, content, the garden de-weeded, the house clean and tidy, my husband content... 
I travel upstairs to my little magic place where the sun kisses the walls through the glass see-through tiles, up high in my mountain casa, with the sounds of birds and lizards creeping through the roof vegas. 
Its warm and peaceful up there, and it gives me the inspiration to feel free to paint, draw, create and feel deeply all the pains and sacrifices i have made in my life to get where i am today...

  I have so much more inside me to find, and so very excited to begin my intense journey...

Elderflower cordial

You know its spring time when... the warm mornings bring light rain, thunder and lightning in the afternoon. I love being up in the high mountains at this time of year, we really do witness a storm brewing above our heads.  You watch the West come in, the East combine and then cracks of thunder pierce the skies, it excites me so much, makes you realise the power of nature.  We watched the storm approaching when we were out picking elderflowers, we have elder tree's all over our village. We brought our handmade basket i made from grape vines, i snipped the flower while my little daughter collected them up.  Boiling water to make our cordial while we watched the lightning fork the sky. Recipe for Elderflower Cordial    25 heads of elder flowers    Zest of 3 oranges and lemons and their juices    1 kg of sugar Directions:-  Boil 1.5 litres of water and sit the flowers in a bowl covered overnight to infuse.                      The next day, strain

Spring has begun up in the mountains, the distant sound of chainsaw's and strimmers fill the air, in preparation for the yearly land clearance. A vital part of living out here in the depths of the mountains, is that the land is maintained, and mainly for prevention of the risk of fires.   The sun has been hot this week, temperatures reaching up to 30celcius, and the garden high up here knows about it all, and us gardeners fear the risk of early bolting plants. The heat change hot to cool, and the humidity can cause some distress to both gardeners and plants. Nothing much different from most years, it'd about keeping an eye on the plants making sure they have water at the right time of day, and have adequate shade from other plants and trees. It has taken me a long time to figure this out, for all the 7 years i have been growing food for my family.
