The apartement has a kitchen corner (microwave, kettle, on top cooker, a capsule coffe machine) /diningroom/livingroom, 2 bedrooms  (one bedroom has 2 single beds, and the other has  a bunkbed and a  single bed in it, so it is fit for 5 people), a WC/shower room, and a big veranda with BBQ and amazing views.
Normal prices per night would be:
All the cutlery and towels/linen is provided.

2 people: 30  -  week: 180
3 people: 35  -  week: 210
4 people: 40  -  week: 240
5 people: 45  -  week: 280
Long term rental (1month +) is possible, with considerably lower rates.

4. Rio de Casal Novo

This beautiful hidden gem within the mountain range near Fajao, is beautifully untouched. The beach is mainly huge bolder stones poking out from the depths of the waters.
The rocks stay warm and so you can relax after a cool swim on the smooth rocks. There is a small village but no food available to buy. To get there you drive down to the valley, park past the bridge where is says poço de cesta.

3.  River Beach Colmeal, Gois
Here is Portugals cleanest river beach Rio de Ceira, This river flows from the mountains through Comeal, and then joins up further down to continue on with the Mondego river in Coimbra.

There is parking at the bridge, steps down to the river, a waterfall down to a sandy beach.
There is cascades of beach trees lining the river and offers lovely shade in the heat of the summer.
Bring a picnic, catch a tan, let the children swim knowing it is crystal clean and clear. Make sure to leave the river as you find it and bring your rubbish with you, to help keep this place, Portugal's cleanest river. The village of Colmeal has food to buy, coffee to drink.

2. Barragem da Santa Luzia

There is a lovely reservoir tucked in the mountain range near Fajao, many villages still remain there. Cafe and restaurant are on the round- a- bout before you enter. There is a childs play park next to the restaurant. Once you drive into the forest area of the barragem, there is parking within the forest, or further down is the shore of the lake and parking and a very modern cafe within the grounds of the Barragem...

This is the swimming area with shade near the cafe.

On the way out on the side of the road is this little church, right above the lake, you can take lovely pictures here.

It begins, the cold nights and fresh mornings, brings a warm, almost hot, day.   While i was out busily building our new chicken tractor, i was listening to the song of the house martin.  It was perched up on the electricity wire that joined to my house.  I stopped in wonder from hammering, to admire the beautiful song it was gifting me.  At that moment i realised the beauty and powerful meaning of that moment.  I looked across at the field to the new mother goats, to see them watching their young, jumping and frolicking in the grass.  The wind turbines up on the mountain top were slowly spinning, and the fresh clouds were piercing through, the sound was quiet, the air was still, what a wonderful time to be alive.     Good day to one and all...   It has been a while since my last post on accommodation in our area, just a small reminder of the wonderful places to visit and stay when you come to the hidden mountains of Serra do Açor.   I am a mother, musician, teacher, artist, chef, designer, hairdresser, beauty therapist and much more, the list goes on.    My blog primarily is for showing my art and crafts with the hope of sharing my visions with the world.   I have come here to live with my family a life of learning, change and opportunity for my children.  This country and its people have shown us great kindness, hospitality and a sense of family. Summer has been long, hot and wonderful

 Dearest friends, hasn't it been hot this summer.  It certainly has been a weird summer in terms of heat and long lasting sun.  I can feel a slight change now though, especially as the 100kilo of potatoes is almost out of the ground, and the mountain of tomatoes are yet to be processed. Rain is due tomorrow, 14th september, we'l see if the weather company get it right. Today I harvested the black beans and the flageolet beans. I have also processed some of the tomatoes in salt water waiting to ferment.  Fermenting is my new thing.  I have been making fermented tomato salsa, fermented cabbage/sauerkraut, fermented whole tomatoes, anything I can get in a jar with salt I will try to ferment.  Its so quick and easy, rather than cooking up the tomatoes, and then canning them. In my house canning requires lighting the fire oven all day, and in this heat, its like a sauna all through my home.  Which i dont mind at all, but the other members of my family cant ...
