(Due to the disaster that happened in 1899, which destroyed nearly the whole village, remembers the promise to St Joseph with a sermon, mass and procession)

1st of June 3pm, in Louśa, central Portugal my Friend Richard will be showing his art at a lovely cooperativa event space.
 Would be wonderful to show him some support.

This Thursday the 30th May 2019, is the World Rally Championships, motorcar racing, and it is happening in our area, on the other side of our mountain only 2km away. Here is the map of the course. The roads will be closed, but you might be lucky to see the cars passing. 

The town of Gois will be more happening, there will be things to do there, cafe's and bars open all day.









Village of Soito

Every Saturday from 6pm, Soito fire up the wood oven to make pizza's. Some nights in winter maybe there will be other foods for offer. Usually 6euros per plate on average.

The Bar will be open serving hot and cold drinks, and in winter an open fire to enjoy with the locals.

It begins, the cold nights and fresh mornings, brings a warm, almost hot, day.   While i was out busily building our new chicken tractor, i was listening to the song of the house martin.  It was perched up on the electricity wire that joined to my house.  I stopped in wonder from hammering, to admire the beautiful song it was gifting me.  At that moment i realised the beauty and powerful meaning of that moment.  I looked across at the field to the new mother goats, to see them watching their young, jumping and frolicking in the grass.  The wind turbines up on the mountain top were slowly spinning, and the fresh clouds were piercing through, the sound was quiet, the air was still, what a wonderful time to be alive.     Good day to one and all...   It has been a while since my last post on accommodation in our area, just a small reminder of the wonderful places to visit and stay when you come to the hidden mountains of Serra do Açor.   I am a mother, musician, teacher, artist, chef, designer, hairdresser, beauty therapist and much more, the list goes on.    My blog primarily is for showing my art and crafts with the hope of sharing my visions with the world.   I have come here to live with my family a life of learning, change and opportunity for my children.  This country and its people have shown us great kindness, hospitality and a sense of family. Summer has been long, hot and wonderful

 Dearest friends, hasn't it been hot this summer.  It certainly has been a weird summer in terms of heat and long lasting sun.  I can feel a slight change now though, especially as the 100kilo of potatoes is almost out of the ground, and the mountain of tomatoes are yet to be processed. Rain is due tomorrow, 14th september, we'l see if the weather company get it right. Today I harvested the black beans and the flageolet beans. I have also processed some of the tomatoes in salt water waiting to ferment.  Fermenting is my new thing.  I have been making fermented tomato salsa, fermented cabbage/sauerkraut, fermented whole tomatoes, anything I can get in a jar with salt I will try to ferment.  Its so quick and easy, rather than cooking up the tomatoes, and then canning them. In my house canning requires lighting the fire oven all day, and in this heat, its like a sauna all through my home.  Which i dont mind at all, but the other members of my family cant ...
