November update

The seasons change so fast, before i can blink the leaves have al blown away and I'm finding myself sifting through the leaves once again searching for the left overs of chestnuts that the wild boars might have missed, as they ravaged our village for a sack full...   The chestnut festival went well, we only stayed a short time as it just rained and ruined the fire and roasting. Today i cleaned up the soggy charred chestnuts and shells to give to our goats, who will of course devour them all...    I'v emoted lots up in my shop, check it out and pass on the message of my blog to others, help me raise funds.   Big up blessings and happy autumn...

New winter shoulder wraps..

Image
I have been rather busy since the garden has been dying down, and the work is lessening, well only for a while. Thought id get myself some stock made up for winter fairs coming up on my calendar.    Pop into my shop and check out my new designs, one is a waistcoat converted from a jacket, and it is wool lined.   The other two are shoulder wraps, kinda like scarfs, warm neck wrap. I have chosen natural fabrics, like cotton and wool, that are not harsh on the skin. I will be making more, if you have any ideas of colours or schemes, pop them into my email and i'll start to get inspired....   Enjoy my new things...

Each day i am trying to find the time to put down all the things i wish to share, my fingers just don't type fast enough, my brain rarely remembers the things the lightbulb moments bring when i am in amongst the flowers, plants and trees, beneath the tree tops and wrapped in the forest floor.   I am an artist, i see colours in the wind, i imagine faces in the bark of a tree, i feel the beautiful energy in people around me, even if i can't understand the language too well....   I walk with my head high and a smile dressed in golden sunshine, i wake early to see the birds swoop and fly around my mountain top house, it is the most beautiful thing in the world, a moment of bliss.   I see magic in so many things, i light up my path with footprints of hope, a mother, a woman and a human on a journey to bring service to my children, educate them, guide them, hold them in those dark hours, make food to give them strength, i grow food, i raise chickens and goa...

The air the wind has changed

Even though the heat of summer still lingers, and even grows from day to day, i can feel the slight change in season. Each day, from the start of September, has brought even hotter days, more than it has since August, which has been our hottest time of year in the past. I have noticed the hedgerows have become more abundant with blackberries.   As we collect the dry hay from the fields, and line the goat sheds to the brim, i get the odd attachment from the brambles, reminding me with a gentle tug, to take notice of the hedges.  The tree's are laden with fruits, and the wasps and honest are ever so active.   This begins the romantic stage for me, as the very slight start to the autumn season draws in.   I have been busy making new stock for the new online shop i will be posting, but thought maybe it would be good to accumulate all the goods before i start to post it all up.   Just incase you haven't already, id like to invite you to click th...

Aftermath..

After most exhilarating events, or post party energy, the end of the excited feeling... has approached.   Calmness has set itself snuggly upon our village. Only the old ladies gathering at dawn to walk the roads around our mountains. The garden has been giving so much of late, and i am almost caught up the creek with how many ways i can feed my family using a mixture of potatoes in all their wondeful ways, green beans, pumpkin, courgette, corn, tomatoes, onions, garlic, lettuce, eggs, flour.... Learning all the ways one can turn an old spud into many delicious a meal. Fries, boiled, rissoles, mash, burgers, gnocchi, soup, the list goes on.   Tonight i made potato bread, that was fun, and the family loved it. Ill post some recipes soon too, of what we grow and how we eat it, store it for the winter months here on the farm.
